School Uniforms and Dress Code

All students must adhere to the District’s dress code for the 2022-23 school year.

The student dress code policy was updated during the 2021-22 school year. Lowell's Dress Code information can be found under the Parents tab. Check your school's website to see if changes apply to your student.

The new policy expands clothing options for our students in middle and high school grades, and gives lower grade levels the option of wearing jeans. The new guidelines also allow students to wear their natural hairstyles and religious head coverings. Read the full policy here: https://schools.saisd.net/upload/page/9349/docs/FNCALOCALBoardApproved.pdf Questions? Please check with your child's campus for more information.

The District has several programs available to assist families with the purchase of uniforms.

  • Currently, SAISD Uniform Services has a uniform closet with the inventory to support approximately 5,000 students in need of a basic school uniform.
  • Additional funding is available to help families purchase uniforms. Parents can submit an application to SAISD Uniform Services to receive uniform vouchers for use with any of the District’s four approved vendors.
  • The District also has support services, including uniform assistance, available to families experiencing homelessness.
  • Uniforms, shoes, and undergarments will be available at the SAISD Back to School Resource Fair on Saturday, July 31, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Freeman Coliseum Expo Hall. Call (210) 554-2210 or email familyengagement@saisd.net for information about this event.

For more information about any of these services, please email saisdschoolsocialworkers@saisd.net or call (210) 554-2635.

Welcome to Falcon Country!

We hope you are having a great summer. This school year, we're continuing to use the Learning Management System (or learning platform) called Canvas. The great thing about this program is that it will allow teachers, parents, and students a better way to communicate with each other and work together toward academic success. Students can access Canvas through Classlink.

We know we have faced difficulties as we learn this new platform, together, so we want to make sure that everyone gets as much help and guidance as needed.  If you click on the Parent Resources tab, above, you can find links to help with any Canvas questions or problems you may have. Additionally, teachers are always willing to help students learn how to use the program during their live Zoom sessions.

Please know that we're here to make this as smooth a transition as possible. If you have any questions, please feel free to email our librarian, Mrs. Spicer, and she will work to either help you solve any problems you are facing or find the person who can help you.

Additionally, SAISD HelpDesk has extended their hours to assist families, staff and students who are facing technology concerns, questions, or difficulties. They can be reached at (210)244-2929 or you can email them at helpdesk@saisd.net

Thank you!

Dear Lowell Families:

I am excited to welcome you to the start of the new school year! I hope you had a great summer break and that you are ready to return to school. The teachers and staff have been busy preparing for the year to ensure that teaching and learning are happening at high levels. Our main commitment here at Lowell continues to be improving student outcomes through setting high expectations for teaching and learning on our campus.

This year we will continue to embrace The Falcon Way and develop meaningful relationships, engage in learning that matters, and transform learners into leaders! Our campus Unit Organizer will guide us as we improve our instructional practices as well as bring out the best in our team.  Together we will become the best team by cultivating and maintaining a safe, positive and nurturing culture.  As Lowell falcons we will become an exemplar campus.

Our campus vision is to challenge our students intellectually, grow them socially, and guide them toward independent thinking and problem solving; and, to ultimately better prepare our students for their future.

I am looking forward to working with the students, parents, faculty, staff, and the community of San Antonio ISD. I will work tirelessly this school year not only to be the best; however, to bring out the best in others as well!  I am looking forward to a very successful school year. It is my goal to lead with heart, positive energy, enthusiasm, and most importantly, with a purpose.

It is my goal to educate and inspire!
