Principal's Message

Welcome to the Douglass Eagle Family!

We know as we start the school year we will be coming back to in-person instruction and our commitment to our children’s academic success and growth is stronger than ever. Douglass staff is committed to ensuring our children continue to grow, learn, create and innovate. We do this by aligning our work to TEKS, assessing students daily, monitoring and adjusting instruction based on daily student data, coaching up students along with families and staff, and building relationships with families through open communication. We work together as a community to ensure ALL our children achieve growth and success!

As we continue throughout our learning journey together this year, there will be twists and turns. We will maneuver through with clear, consistent, and open communication. We will continue to work together to cultivate an environment of high expectations while challenging our children so they can excel in all aspects of development. We will continue to work on educating the whole child, which includes cultivating their needs in PE, music, art, and emotional wellness. Together we can ensure our children leave Douglass with all the tools necessary to excel in life no matter the obstacle put in front of them. We are in this journey together and together we can build up our children with GRIT, academic readiness, and emotional wellness so they can advocate for themselves and others making San Antonio a better place for those who come after them.

We can’t wait to REBOOT this year and SOAR!

In Service, Commitment, and Love,

Dr. Stephanie Ratliff
