At Douglass Academy, we believe in providing a strong academic curriculum and opportunities for students to visit colleges, engage in school gardening (to include a Farmer’s Market), as well as learn more about technological advances within their local and global community. We encourage students to engage in problem-solving and critical thinking, and above all, to understand that failure is a growth opportunity. We understand part of our mission as educators is to build grit and relentlessness within our students, so we engage students in multiple opportunities to practice higher-order thinking skills. We encourage students, as well as teachers, to expand their learning beyond the classroom walls through online collaborations. Douglass Academy staff members work collaboratively to create flexible learning environments for all students, allowing for full engagement in the learning process. We strive for all students to be college-ready not only in academics but confidence, so they believe and can confidently SOAR as leaders of the future!
