Principal Information
Dr. Stephanie G. Ratliff
Dr. Stephanie G. Ratliff received her Bachelor's degree from the University of Incarnate Word in Elementary Education with a specialization in Early Childhood, I started my SAISD journey as a 3rd grade math teacher at Hirsch Elementary. The next year I looped up with my students and remained as a 4th grade teacher for seven more years. While in the classroom, I became interested in technology integration and reading. I went back to school to earn 2 Master's degrees in Technology Integration and Reading both from the University of Incarnate Word. During this time, I transitioned to the District technology department as a Technology Facilitator where I worked with multiple campuses across the District ranging in grades from PK - 12th helping to enhance lessons with technology. After two years, I missed being a part of a campus so returned as a campus assistant principal for Woodlawn Hills Elementary.
My love for knowledge and furthering my education led me to pursue a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Four years later, I became the proud principal of Douglass Elementary. As I finish out my twentieth year in San Antonio ISD I continue to love my community by working with the Douglass Family (to include our neighborhood partnerships with the Doseum and Dakota Eastside Ice House) to build & foster lifelong learners. At Douglass, we believe our students will grow and achieve at high levels if we align to grade level standards, assess daily, adjust lessons & activities based on real-time student data, and coach our students through relevant feedback.
