Welcome to Room 2014, current and future Brack Eagles!

About Mr. Dartez

Originally from Louisiana, I set off around the world by joining the Air Force after I graduated high school. I spent time in South Korea and Okinawa and ended my military time by becoming a Military Training Instructor on Lackland AFB here in San Antonio.

Since getting out of the Air Force in 2014, I decided to take my education seriously and pursued a Bachelor's degree. I graduated from AMU with honors in May 2018 and started teaching in the Fall the same year.

I am passionate about teaching, running, photography and all forms of gaming. I am the sponsor for the tabletop gaming club on campus and any students who are interested can check out our page on the club links.

Learning through the use of technology is difficult and can be incredibly taxing for students who are not accustomed to it or do not find it a natural learning environment.

If you are struggling, please let me know by contacting me through email: bdartez1@saisd.net

Goals for this school year:

My name is Mr. Dartez, and my goal is to make learning about technology interesting and fun for all students, no matter their age. In my classroom, students experience a collaborative learning environment and technology immersion as they learn how to problem-solve and develop skills in a variety of ways.

Additionally, as an elective teacher, it is my goal that every student think about their college and career readiness and how they will pursue their dreams and aspirations.

Finally, my goal for parents is that you always have the opportunity to know how your student is performing and be aware of their accomplishments. I do my best to keep in contact with parents throughout the year to ensure that students have the greatest level of support possible.

My goal for students is that they learn about real-world problems and develop technology solutions and use design-thinking to become problem-solvers and innovators. In addition, I want students to learn to love and appreciate technology and strive to integrate it into their learning through our incredibly diverse technology program on campus.

As a Google certified educator, I am constantly striving to keep my students engaged on the most up-to-date platforms and applications that enable digital learning and technology integration.

This classroom is designated a safe space for all students, free of judgment or discrimination.

In all Career and Technology Education classes, students are expected to display professionalism. In my classroom, it is graded based on the criteria below:

All students demonstrate the professional standards/employability skills as required by business and industry.

All students are expected to:

Identify and demonstrate work behaviors that enhance employability and job advancement such as

promptness, attention to proper attire, maintenance of a clean and safe work environment, appropriate voice, regular attendance, and pride in work

Five brave students volunteered to be a part of the Cyber Defense Eagles, a team of Cybersecurity agents who build a network of assets and defenses in order to prepare for the SAISD District tournament. One of our Eagles was able to place second in the tournament against a massive CAST Tech team, while Lanier came in short as the underdogs.

The pictures below are from the tabletop card game tournament that focuses on Cybersecurity concepts. The tournament took place on April 14th, 2023 and was held at Cafécollege in San Antonio.

Cyber Threat Defender is a game developed and distributed by UTSA to educate students about how to protect themselves online. Click the links in this page to learn more about the game or Cafécollege.

  • Team Brackenridge begins preparing for the tournament.

  • Students compete in head-to-head games, scoring points according to how many wins, draws and losses in each match.

  • Three schools were in attendance at the second district Cyber Threat Defender Tournament. Brackenridge competed against CAST Tech and Lanier students.

  • One of our Cyber Eagles took second place in the tournament.
