About Amalia Hunter I am a product of the district going to Crockett Elementary then Tafolla Middle School where I learned Japanese then finally joining the Burbank Bulldogs. We were the first IB diploma students to graduate in 2003. After high school I attended Our Lady of the Lake University and received a Bachelor's degree in Biology and Mathematics in 2007. In 2009, I graduated with my Master's in Applied Mathematics and I started teaching in high school. I have been a teacher in the district for over 10 years and have been a testing coordinator for 2 years. I have worked at Sam Houston H.S., Lanier H.S. and now I am fortunate enough to work at my alma mata, Luther Burbank H.S. In 2016, I graduated from UTSA with a Master's in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies and that is when I became a testing coordinator for 2 years at Lanier H.S. I am a firm believer that building relationships and having great communication is a crucial foundation in any learning environment. We have an interesting year ahead of us, but we can learn and have fun together.
