Bienvenidos! My name is Ms. Olguin and I am the STEM Lab Facilitator and Robotics Club Advisor for Longfellow Middle School. The STEM Lab is a class designed to give students exposure to cutting-edge resources in preparation for multidisciplinary studies they will face in high school and beyond.
The STEM Lab is a 21st century learning lab designed for the exploration of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, the digital media arts and other academic topics through applied technology. Our STEM Lab is a fully integrated classroom system that includes hardware, software, scientific and media equipment, and hands-on construction kits. Students create projects in various topics such as: circuitry, robotics and control technology, mechanics and structures, and digital communication to name a few.
Our Robotics team is an extension of the STEM Lab. We meet after school and participate in various robotics competitions throughout the school year. This year, we will be participating in SABest, FIRST Lego League and the SeaPerch. Please see announcements below for imperative activity information, or check out my calendar for meeting dates. Here's to a great school year Spartan family!
