I am a committed CS educator and avid researcher. I completed my doctorate in interdisciplinary learning and teaching at UTSA. I focus on promoting complex behaviors and broadening participation in CS. I strive to support students’ CS identities and skills through engagement with personally and professionally relevant technologies. I advocate and publish research examining the affordances of makerspaces for increasing meaningful, constructive engagement with technology, science, and art.
Outside of school, I enjoy running, the programming language R, GNU/Linux, educational data mining, and playing with big data. I am excited to be at CAST working in collaboration with industry and education innovators and leaders. I look forward to working to inspire future CyberPatriot champions and Linux experts!
