Mr. Trevino is currently serving as Director of Bands at Luther Burbank High School in the San Antonio Independent School District. He is a proud graduate of Texas A&M University-Kingsville. His experiences working with multiple instrumental and vocal ensembles in San Antonio has given him a different perspective on his approach to teaching band. Mr. Trevino has written several pieces for band and choral music, as well as small chamber ensembles.

He has led the John Greenleaf Whittier Middle School Band Program as their Director of Bands from 2013 to 2016, building the program into a sweepstakes band and growing its membership to over 180 students. The Bulldog Drum-line and Percussion Ensemble

The Mighty Bulldog Marching Band has a long history of tradition that dates back to over 80 years ago.
Known as the Pride of the Southside and the Sound of the South, the marching band has earned hundreds of awards and recognitions throughout the State of Texas. The band has been featured at the Battle of Flowers Band Festival twice in the past 5 years. It has also made consistent superior (1st Division) ratings at UIL earning them a spot at area every year they qualify for it.

This year the band embarks into their 2019 show titled "La Vida de los Muertos" The Life of the Dead, which fuses the music of famous Mexican artist Juan Gabriel with Mozart's requiem, telling a story of eternal love.

To become a part of the Bulldog Band Family, please contact Mr. Trevino.

History in the making...
11/20/2019

On October 26, 2019, the Mighty Bulldog Band performed at the UIL Area H Contest.
Presenting their 2019 show "La Vida de los Muertos," the band earned a spot at area finals.
This is the first time any SAISD high school band has earned this distinction. During the area finals performance the band came out in 8th place, only four spots away from qualifying to the State championships.

It is the students' hard work and dedication to the band program that has made this possible. We are excited to continue our growth and are hopeful that at the next biennial we will improve upon our historic mark.
