I have been teaching PLTW Biomedical Science course, as well as other science courses, since 2013. I am a Project Lead the Way (PLTW) Master Teacher as well. My lessons are designed to be student-centered as much as possible and will require students to use critical thinking skills, collaborate with others, and learn skills so that they are able to learn and think on their own, my courses are not sit-and-get courses.
Prior to teaching, I spent 6 years as a research scientist at the University of Texas Health Science Center (UTHSC) here in San Antonio. At UTHSC I worked in cancer research labs and was blessed to be a part of several scientific journal publications. Now, I am lucky enough to be able to use my knowledge and experience in medical research to help students in the biomedical classroom.
