Mrs. Simpson - Welcome!
Hello. I am the 7th and 8th grade Deaf Education teacher here at Mission Academy for the 2017-2018 school year.
Other than 3 years of teaching in 3rd and 4th grade general education classes, I have been working with deaf students since 1984. I have worked in the elementary grades, middle school grades and in high school one year.
I have been working in SAISD since 1987. Before that, I worked in the Corpus Christi RDSPD program.
I am a graduate of Arnold Elementary, Whittier Middle School and Edison High School. After high school I went to UTSA then Texas Woman’s University for a degree in Deaf Education.
My college professor once said, “Hearing students can learn in spite their teachers, but deaf children learn because of their teachers.”
