Mr. McCraw was born in Mississippi but has lived in Texas most of his life.  He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from the University of Mississippi, then a Master of Divinity, and a Master of Arts in English from Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas.  After three decades in the ministry, he changed careers and began in education in 2005. Mr. McCraw also teaches as an Adjunct Instructor in English for St. Philip’s College and sings Tenor I in San Antonio Symphony's chorus, the MasterSingers.

“I tell my students that I teach life skills.  Reading and writing are skills we all must have if we are to be successful. To me, passing the STAAR ELA exam is a minimal standard for high school.  I want my students to not only be successful this year but prepared for accomplishing in college or their chosen career, and well, for a lifetime!”
