High school students framed the doghouses with the same building codes as home construction. The project gave students hands-on experience in residential home construction. Proceeds from the sale of the doghouses will be used to purchase building materials to give students additional construction experience.
Each doghouse is 4 ft. wide by 4 ft. deep by 5 ft. tall, with a door opening of 1 ft. wide by 2 ft. tall. The roof construction is made with estate gray architectural shingles and the outside is painted with exterior latex paint.
The starting bid for each doghouse is $150, and additional bids will be accepted in $50 increments. The online auction is available for the next 30 days. Interested pet owners may place bids at bit.ly/SHHS_Auction.
