SAISD is pleased to announce that it is increasing seating for all 2021 graduation venues to allow families to enjoy their graduate’s milestone moment. Ceremonies at Alamo Stadium will have unlimited seating since the outdoor venue has a capacity of about 20,000. Ceremonies inside the Alamo Convocation Center (ACC) will have seating availability for 2,500.
Please note that in the event of rain, outdoor graduations will be moved inside the ACC. A maximum of 2,500 “rain venue” tickets will be provided to each school to be disseminated to families. Rain venue tickets will be used to admit ticket holders into the ACC in the event of rain. Only attendees who have one of these “rain venue” tickets will be able to enter the ACC, so it is important families safeguard these tickets and carry them to their graduate’s ceremony.
While masks will no longer be required after June 4, 2021, students and families are strongly encouraged to continue to wear masks and practice social distancing indoors in an effort to decrease the risk of exposure. Contact tracing and quarantine mandates are still in effect if someone is exposed to a lab-confirmed individual and considered to be at high risk. The District would like to ensure that no student misses their graduation ceremony due to COVID exposure and quarantine.
