Today on National Parental Involvement Day, we recognize all caregivers across SAISD whose powerful contributions support their student’s success! Proud parents and Eagles Athletics Booster Club members Claudia and Mari Lu say the best thing about being involved is giving back to the kids.
“It means everything to be involved with our kids,” said Claudia, whose son is a senior on the varsity football team.
“I love to be out here, bugging the kids,” laughed Mari Lu, whose son also plays varsity football and runs track. “There are a lot of kids who need a little bit of extra support. In addition to fundraising, we are out here after practice asking, ‘Hey, did you eat, how are your grades, do you have a ride home?’ It’s a lot of small things that add up; it’s all for our students.”
