Rain, sleet, snow or shine, just like the postal carrier, our SAISD parking lot attendants deliver.

Just ask Louie Zamarripa Jr. and Jimmy Trevino.

For more than 25 years, Zamarripa and Trevino have worked as part-time parking lot attendants for SAISD at Alamo Stadium. They are fixtures at district sporting and graduation events.

It can be 100-degree-plus sizzling heat or below-freezing weather, yet Zamarripa and Trevino are outside in the elements safely guiding each visitor to their designated parking spot.

“Sometimes we have shorts, a shirt, suntan lotion and a cap,” said Trevino, whose wife Beatrice also works as a parking lot attendant. “It’s hot. Other days we are wearing two pairs of pants, a jacket, long johns because it is freezing. The wind here is strong. In the rain, we slosh around. We still do it because we enjoy what we do.”

“People think I am crazy but I just love it,” confirms Zamarripa.

Eight parking attendants work the Alamo Stadium facility and two members work the SAISD Sports Complex.

“Our parking lot attendants are the ones that first welcome guests to our venues,” said Fred Anthony, senior executive director of athletics. “They play a big part in providing a positive experience. They work hard and really are the lifeblood at our events.”

They have greeted millions of visitors through the years. A number of celebrities have been greeted by Zamarripa, Trevino and the parking attendants crew. Some big names include Hollywood actor Denzel Washington, former Texas Governor Rick Perry and a number of San Antonio Spurs players.

“We have a great team,” Zamarripa said. “We help each other out. We make things work. We are the frontline of this army we got here. It starts with us. That’s what we do.”

Llueva, granice, nieve o haga sol, al igual que el cartero, nuestros empleados del estacionamiento del SAISD cumplen con su trabajo.

Sólo hay que preguntar a Louie Zamarripa Jr. y Jimmy Treviño.

Por más de 25 años, Zamarripa y Treviño han trabajado como asistentes de estacionamiento a tiempo parcial para el Distrito Escolar Independiente de San Antonio (SAISD) en el Alamo Stadium. Su presencia es habitual en los eventos deportivos y de graduación del distrito.

Puede hacer un calor de más de 100 grados o un frío bajo cero, pero Zamarripa y Treviño están preparados para guiar de manera segura a cada visitante hasta su lugar de estacionamiento designado.

"A veces llevamos shorts, camiseta, protector solar y gorra", dijo Treviño, cuya esposa Beatrice también trabaja como encargada del estacionamiento. “Hace calor. Otros días llevamos dos pantalones, una chamarra y pantalones largos porque hace mucho frío. El viento aquí es fuerte. Bajo la lluvia, chapoteamos. Seguimos haciéndolo porque disfrutamos con lo que hacemos".

"La gente cree que estoy loco, pero a mí me encanta", confirma Zamarripa.

Ocho asistentes de estacionamiento trabajan en las instalaciones del Alamo Stadium y dos miembros trabajan en el SAISD Sports Complex.

“Nuestros asistentes de estacionamiento son los que primero dan la bienvenida a los huéspedes a nuestros lugares”, dijo Fred Anthony, director ejecutivo senior de atletismo. “Ellos juegan un papel importante en proporcionar una experiencia positiva. Ellos trabajan duro y realmente son la sangre vital en nuestros eventos”.

Han recibido a millones de visitantes a través de los años. Un número de celebridades han sido recibidos por Zamarripa, Trevino y el equipo de asistentes de estacionamiento. Entre los nombres más destacados se encuentran el actor de Hollywood Denzel Washington, el exgobernador de Texas Rick Perry y varios jugadores de los San Antonio Spurs.
