SAN ANTONIO (Aug. 7, 2025) – San Antonio ISD’s Baskin Elementary School of Leadership and Health Sciences is proud to announce the launch of its Extended Day Services, beginning this school year which begins Aug. 13. The school now provides free early drop-off starting at 6:30 a.m., with late pick-up available through the YMCA until 6 p.m. for qualifying families. This expanded schedule is designed to better serve working families while providing students with additional time in a nurturing, enriching environment.

“Families deserve a school that nurtures the whole child and supports their unique needs, including extended learning opportunities that fit busy family schedules,” said Principal Yvonne Martinez. “At Baskin, we’re proud to offer an exceptional program where students thrive academically, creatively, and socially.”

Baskin Elementary’s curriculum focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM). Through health sciences, outdoor exploration and play, and physical, mental, and emotional wellness, students will develop leadership skills and have a choice and voice in their learning.

Baskin Elementary, located at 630 Crestview Drive—just minutes from the Medical Center—is currently enrolling students in grades Pre-K through 5th for the 2025-2026 school year. The school is open to any student in Bexar County.
