WHAT: The SAISD Foundation invites the community and media to celebrate Diez y Seis with A Night of Music. A Legacy of Culture. This free, family-friendly outdoor performance event will showcase the cultural pride and musical talent of SAISD students through mariachi and ballet folklórico performances, remarks from SAISD Superintendent Dr. Jaime Aquino, and a spirited grito contest judged by Rey Feo Fabian Castillo, Sr.
“This event shines a spotlight on the incredible talent of our SAISD students and celebrates the rich legacy of cultural arts education that got its start in San Antonio ISD,” said Judy Geelhoed, Executive Director of the SAISD Foundation. “We are proud to create opportunities for our students to share their gifts on a citywide stage.
