Student cosmetologists offer full range of beauty services to community

WHAT: Tour the working salon of the cosmetology program of Sam Houston High School where two dozen students working toward cosmetology certification in high school will be giving free mini facials, hand massages and facial waxes to community members and showcasing other cosmetology services on mannequins to promote their 2025-2026 salon season.

Sam Houston is one of four high schools in San Antonio ISD offering cosmetology certification to high school students, allowing them access to high-paying jobs immediately following high school, which some students then use to help them access higher education. The program is also offered at Brackenridge, Burbank and Lanier High Schools.
