SAN ANTONIO (Nov. 12, 2025) – Unilever, H-E-B, SAISD Foundation, and City of San Antonio Parks and Recreation are celebrating Texas Recycles Day with an award ceremony to name the winning San Antonio elementary schools that participated in this fall’s recycling contest. This will be the fourth year of this initiative. There will also be a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new outdoor recreation area at San Antonio ISD’s Ferdinand Herff Elementary School, which will feature play and sports areas constructed from recyclable materials.
WHAT: Supported by an in-store fundraising campaign and a donation from both Unilever and H-E-B, SAISD Foundation will award 30 local elementary schools with grants up to $10,000 for needed projects as a recognition for their students' recycling efforts this fall. There will also be a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the beautification of the Herff Elementary School outdoor activity and learning areas. The event will bring together company leaders, elected officials, leaders, and staff from the San Antonio Independent School District. Teachers, school leaders, and students of the participating schools will also attend.
