Jan. 13 (Sat) – SAISD Bond 2020 Groundbreaking at Burbank High School
9 a.m., Burbank High School, 1002 Edwards St., 78204
The public is invited as Burbank High School celebrates the beginning of exciting new campus upgrades made possible by the Bond 2020 program. This is more than a groundbreaking — it’s a celebration of progress as the Burbank community embarks on a new path forward. Planned construction includes a new gym, weight rooms, storage areas, improvements to the athletics fields, and much more to enhance the student experience on the Burbank campus.
Jan. 14 (Tues) – Brackenridge High School 8th Grade Open House
5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., Brackenridge High School, 400 Eagleland Drive, 78210
Families with 8th grade students are invited to see all that Brackenridge High School has to offer during their high school years. The Media & Film Institute, the Early College High School, plus all the various career pathways will be featured. Free hotdogs and cotton candy will be on hand as students get a closer look at the amazing arts programs available at Brackenridge High School.
Jan. 16 (Fri) – NAMI Graduation Ceremony at St. Philip's Early College High School

NAMI Greater San Antonio’s Bridges to Care (BTC) Teen Mental Health Champion Program is proud to celebrate the certification of 60 students from St. Philip’s Early College High School as Teen Mental Health Champions. As the need for mental health support among youth continues to grow, this program equips teens with the knowledge and confidence to start conversations around a topic that has long been stigmatized. Through education, prevention, and peer support, NAMI Greater San Antonio and San Antonio ISD are helping foster healthier schools and a stronger community, reinforcing the belief that no one should have to navigate mental health challenges alone.
Jan. 16 (Fri) – SAISD 8th Grade Family Night
6 p.m. to 8 p.m., Burbank High School, 1002 Edwards St., 78204H
The SAISD Office of Access and Enrollment is excited to invite families with 8th grade students to the district’s second 8th Grade Family Night. This event is designed to provide a family-friendly environment where students and their families can explore enrollment options for the transition from 8th to 9th grade. Family Night offers students and families the opportunity to learn more about the 9th grade extracurricular and academic program offerings available at 15 SAISD high schools. This timely event will assist students and families in making course selections as the January 30 deadline to make decisions rapidly approaches.
