SAISD SPOTLIGHT: SAISD Youth Mental Health Symposium

SAISD recognizes how important mental health matters to our students and families. Middle school years can be especially rough. Talking about how to navigate these times is one of the biggest reasons why SAISD is hosting the Middle School Mental Health Symposium on January 31 (see below) for parents and their children. The event’s theme is “The Mind Matters,” and the goal of the event at Poe Middle School is to provide avenues to services, methods and information for students and families in need of help.
Students and parents will participate together in a range of activities designed to open the dialogue about finding solutions. Topics will include learning how to better manage stress and coping skills, building awareness about always being mindful and where to safely find mental health resources.
*Set up a time to preview the event with an interview of Poe Middle School Associate Principal Leo Aguilar.
