Feb. 27 (Fri) – Sam Houston High School Construction Work Boots delivery

Matt Gonzales from Laborers Local 1095 (LIUNA) will be presenting FREE work boots to four students in the Sam Houston High School Construction Program. These four students are being rewarded for their second place finish at the ABC Build Competition that took place at the 2025 Texas Construction Careers Initiative (TCCI) and Trades Day last fall. The competition included the following components: Plumbing, Drywall/Carpentry, Electrical, and HVAC. Sam Houston High School construction has a pre-apprentice program partnership with LIUNA in place since 2023 to provide construction career pathways for high school students and meet industry need for talent.
Feb. 27 (Fri) – SAISD 8th Grade Family Night

The SAISD Office of Access and Enrollment invites families across the area to a centrally located 8th Grade Family Night. This event is designed to provide a family-friendly environment where students across and their families can explore enrollment options for high school in SAISD. Family Night offers students and families the opportunity to learn more about the extracurricular and academic program offerings available at 15 comprehensive and charter high schools in SAISD. Families will get to enjoy free food, prizes, giveaways, and video games while they explore SAISD’s high school options, ask questions, and find the right fit for their student, all in one fun evening.
