WHAT YOU’LL SEE: Students from Brackenridge High School, Edison High School, and Bonham Academy performing live mariachi, conjunto, and ballet folklórico at Legacy Park in downtown San Antonio — an outdoor community celebration that honors the cultural traditions woven into the fabric of this city.

WHAT’S HAPPENING: The SAISD Foundation is hosting "A Night of Music. A Legacy of Culture.," a free outdoor event showcasing SAISD student performers. The evening features:

● Brackenridge High School Mariachi
● Edison High School Mariachi & Conjunto
● Bonham Academy Ballet Folklórico (third and fourth graders performing)

The event is free and open to the public. Attendees are invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Free parking is available at City Tower Garage, 60 N. Flores St.

WHY IT MATTERS: For many San Antonio students, performing arts programs are a gateway to cultural pride, to discipline, to community, and to a sense of belonging.

Mariachi, conjunto, and Ballet Folklórico are not just performance traditions; they are living expressions of San Antonio's identity. SAISD schools are among the few places where these art forms are actively taught and nurtured.

This event is made possible through a partnership between the SAISD Foundation, the City of San Antonio Council District 1 (Dr. Sukh Kaur), and WestonUrban. It also serves as the official kickoff to the SAISD Foundation’s 20th anniversary celebration — marking two decades of investing in San Antonio’s students, teachers, and schools.
