Senior Adiel Ibarra to Celebrate College Soccer Commitment
SAN ANTONIO (May 20, 2026) – Jefferson High School senior and San Antonio native Adiel Ibarra will officially announce his commitment to continue his academic and athletic career at George Mason University, an NCAA Division I soccer program in Virginia.
Adiel’s journey reflects years of sacrifice, discipline, family support, and purposeful development through soccer. He began his soccer journey with Urban Champions Academy / Champions FC, where he learned not only the fundamentals of the game, but also critical life skills rooted in character, resilience, leadership, education, and purpose.
Through the example of his hardworking family, Adiel learned early the value of sacrifice and commitment. His soccer journey led him to make key club moves and ultimately give up playing high school soccer in order to compete at the highest youth level in the United States: MLS NEXT Homegrown with AC River at Soccer Central.
That foundation gave Adiel the opportunity to play in front of NCAA Division I college coaches from across the country, leading to multiple college soccer opportunities and his commitment to George Mason University.

Today, Adiel will celebrate the next step in his journey as he commits to George Mason University, where he will continue pursuing his academic and athletic goals.
