WHAT: Bond ribbon-cutting unveils new model of elementary school in SAISD
Schenck Elementary School will be celebrating the completion of Bond 2020 construction with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a near-total rebuild of the campus. This new elementary model offers a community room accessible from the security vestibule for small meetings and gatherings. Additionally, study and collaboration spaces line colorful hallways so that students have additional spaces to create work.
The event will include student performances, ceremonial ribbon cutting, student-led campus tours, and a school supply giveaway from H-E-B.

This ceremony marks the successful delivery of Bond 2020 commitments to Schenck Elementary, part of a larger districtwide effort to modernize and facilities and enrich the student learning environment.
The campus relocated to the former Foster Elementary site during the two years of major construction and officially returned for the 2026-27 school year.
Major highlights of the completed work include:
New two-story building with library, main classrooms, art, music, makerspace, community room and learning commons
New campus entrance and administrative area
New drop-off and pick up locations, and outdoor spaces
Kitchen and equipment upgrades
Site and parking upgrades
Relocated central plant and HVAC, technology, and security updates
