Sept 7 (Mon) – SAISD closed for Labor Day

All SAISD schools and offices will be closed on Monday, September 7, 2026, for the Labor Day holiday. Regular campus and office hours resume on Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

Sept 11 (Fri) – SAISD 9/11 ceremonies

SAISD will join the nation in taking time to remember the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks with memorial ceremonies taking place at various campuses:

• 8:20 a.m., Highlands High School, 3118 Elgin Ave., 78210

  
  JROTC cadets will hold a flag ceremony in memory of 9/11.
  

• 9 a.m., St. Philip’s College Early College High School, 1801 Martin L. King Drive, 78203

  
  Sam Houston High School JROTC cadets will participate in the 9/11 ceremony at St. Philip’s College, including the presentation of colors and saber guard.
  

• 9:15-10:30 a.m., Jefferson High School, 723 Donaldson Ave., 78201

  
  JROTC cadets will honor the lives lost during the 9/11 attacks.
  

• 9:30-10:30 a.m., Edison High School, 701 Santa Monica Drive, 78212

  
  JROTC cadets will hold a ceremony in the auditorium to include the posting of colors, Edison High School Choir singing the National Anthem, a reading of the names of lives, lost plus a history on 9/11 and bugle rendition of “Taps.” Guest speaker will be SAISD employee LTC Santiago Bueno, who was at the Pentagon when it was attacked.
