Hector Trevino
Mr. Hector Trevino was born in Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, and has been involved in the arts since an early age. He has resided in San Antonio TX since 2003, and is currently the Director of Bands at Luther Burbank High School in the San Antonio Independent School District. He is a proud graduate of Texas A&M University-Kingsville, and has always been very passionate about the Art of Music and Music Education. His core instrument is Percussion, but he also specializes in brass, woodwinds, and vocal techniques. He has experience in directing a variety of instrumental and vocal ensembles, including Band, Choir, and Orchestra. Mr. Trevino has written several pieces of band and choral music as well as small chamber ensembles.
As a performer, He has been a member of the Kingsville Symphony Orchestra, The Texas A&M University Kingsville Wind Symphony and Concert Choir, and has performed several chamber music recitals. He is member of the Texas Music Educators Association, Percussive Arts Society, and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia.
As a Director, he has led the John Greenleaf Whittier Middle School Band Program as their Director of Bands from 2013 to 2016; building the program into a sweepstakes band with a membership of over 250 students. Additionally, he has served as Middle School Band Coordinator for Region XI of TMEA.
Mr. Trevino is excited to be a member of the Burbank Family.
