Mr. John Hilliard
Harris Hawk Community,
My name is Mr. John Kevin Hilliard, and I am excited to join the Harris Hawkfamilia. It is an honor to serve asyour new Principal. I have proudly served the SAISD community for the past 16 years. I hold a Bachelor's degree inBiology and a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, both from UTSA. I taught high school Science for 9 years and also completed the Trinity University's Tomorrow's Leaders Program while earning my Master's degree in Educational Leadership and my Principal certification. I have also worked as a Science Implementation Specialist for SAISD before serving as an Assistant Principal in SAISD for 6 years. Lastly, while serving as Assistant Principal, I completed the New Leaders Emerging Leaders Program as well as Columbia University's Cahn Distinguished Principals Fellowship Program.
My experiences have led me to be a firm believer in transparent communication while fostering a culture of respect and trust, where every voice is heard and valued. At Harris Middle School we will work together to provide a safe and nurturing environment where all Hawks succeed and soar to greatness!
As we embark on this shared journey, the Harris Hawkfamiliaof students, staff, and community will soon celebrate Harris Middle School's 100th anniversary. There are many things to be proud of as we celebrate 100 years of excellence and Hawk pride! It will continue to be our mission to work collaboratively with students, families, and the community to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, caring learners and leaders who are mindful of intercultural connections while becoming contributing members of their communities.
I am looking forward to meeting every Harris Hawk! We are here to support not only our students but also the entire Harris Hawk community and we certainly value your input.

Mi nombre es el Sr. John Kevin Hilliard y estoy emocionado de unirme a la familia Harris Hawk . Es un honor servir como su nuevo director. He servido con orgullo a la comunidad de SAISD durante los últimos 16 años. Soy Licenciado en Biología y una maestría en Currículo e Instrucción, ambos de UTSA. Enseñé Ciencias en la escuela secundaria durante 9 años y también completé el Programa de Líderes del Mañana de Trinity University mientras obtenía mi Maestría en Liderazgo Educativo y mi certificación como Directora. También trabajé como especialista en implementación de ciencias para SAISD antes de servir como subdirectora en SAISD durante 6 años. Por último, mientras me desempeñaba como subdirectora, completé el Programa de líderes emergentes de nuevos líderes, así como el Programa de becas para directores distinguidos Cahn de la Universidad de Columbia.
Mis experiencias me han llevado a ser un firme creyente en la comunicación transparente al tiempo que fomenta una cultura de respeto y confianza, donde cada voz es escuchada y valorada. ¡En Harris Middle School trabajaremos juntos para brindar un ambiente seguro y enriquecedor donde todos los Hawks triunfen y se eleven hacia la grandeza!
A medida que nos embarcamos en este viaje compartido, la familia de estudiantes, el personal y la comunidad de Harris Hawk pronto celebrará el 100. ° aniversario de la Escuela Intermedia Harris. ¡Hay muchas cosas de las que estar orgullosos mientras celebramos 100 años de excelencia y orgullo de Hawk!
