Dear Collins Garden Parents, Families and Friends,
On behalf of the teachers and staff at Collins Garden Elementary School, I am happy to welcome you to the 2017-18 school year! We have an amazing year planned and are happy that you are joining us. I am excited that Collins Garden now offers dual language classes (PK – 2nd) for students interested in a dual language program.
At Collins Garden, we are building confident leaders. Our goal is to have every child reading at or above grade level. As partners, you can help by encouraging your child to read daily, discussing what they are reading, checking out books from the library and taking time to read. We will also be working with students to set academic goals and learn how to tract their own progress. Together, parents, students and teachers will celebrate as we reach our individual, class and campus goals.
Please know Collins Garden is here to serve you and our wonderful community. Please consider joining our PTA and supporting our school. We will keep you informed of upcoming events and activities through letters home with students, your child’s communication folder, phone calls home, and our website.
I would like to welcome our new Assistant Principal, Ms. Cynthia Polanco, to Collins Garden. Please feel free to reach out to either of us if you have questions, concerns or celebrations.
Again, thank you for giving us the pleasure of educating your child. The wonderful Collins Garden staff and I are proud to be a part of the school community. We thank you for your support and look forward to a great year.
