Lianna CanoDear Parents,

On behalf of our teachers and staff at Madison Elementary School, I am happy to welcome you to the 2020-21 school year! We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our children can achieve their highest potential. We recognize that in order to be successful in school, our children need support from both home and school. We know a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child’s education. As partners, we share the responsibility for our children’s success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities. We ask that you guide and support your child’s learning by ensuring that he/she:

  • Attends school daily and arrives on time, ready for the day’s learning experience
  • Completes all assignments given by teachers
  • Reads daily to develop a love for reading and to improve literacy skills
  • Shares school experiences with you so that you are aware of his/her school life
  • Informs you if he/she needs additional support in any area or subject
  • Knows that you expect him/her to succeed in school and go on to college

I look forward to seeing your child(ren) grow in their learning and achieve their academic goals.  Please take an interest in your child's education by joining PTA, or other programs we will be offering throughout the year.  Be on the lookout for more information sent home with your child(ren).

The following are a few reminders about our procedures:

  • Drop-Off for Head Start & Pre K starts at 7:30am
  • Drop-Off for Kinder thru 5th starts at 7:20am at the drive-thru entrance on Woodlawn.  Students will be directed to walk through side door entrance and into the cafeteria
  • Main office and outside cafeteria doors open at 7:20am
  • For safety reasons, students are not allowed to wait outside without parent/guardian supervision.  Drive-thru side entrance doors close at 8:00am.  Any student arriving after 8:00am are expected to enter through main office doors with their parent/guardian.

The wonderful Madison staff and I are proud to be a part of this school community. We thank you for your support and look forward to a great year.

Lianna Cano
