On behalf of the faculty and staff, I would like to welcome you and your children to the 2017-2018 school year at Margil Elementary where we strive for One Team, One Dream! Here at Margil we provide education for Pre-Kinder thru Sixth grade students.
We are happy to share that Margil Elementary is predicted to meet “Met Standard” on the state accountability for STAAR. We congratulate the Margil staff, students and parents for their hard work and dedication.
This school year, third through sixth grade students will take the STAAR Reading and STAAR Mathematics state assessments. Additionally the fourth graders will take the STAAR Writing, and the fifth grade will take the STAAR Science. The fifth grade students must pass the STAAR in math and in reading to be promoted to the sixth grade.
Parents, it is in your child’s best interest to be present at school every single day, all 177 days of instruction. When your child is at school every day, your child is ensured of a successful future, which is what we wish for all of our children. Help us by having the children here every day and on time.
Thank you for working with us. I look forward to working with you in providing your child the best education opportunity possible.
