Hi! My name is Ms. Flores and I’m excited to share that I will joining the 2nd grade team here at Irving Dual Language Academy for 2024-2025 School Year. This will be my 4th year here at Irving and I am thankful for the opportunity to be your child’s teacher and look forward to year of many adventures through learning, I can’t wait to learn all about the students but first I would like to share a little about myself.
I was born and raised here in San Antonio, Texas, where I attended SAISD schools from elementary to high school. I am the third of four siblings in my family, and I am a proud aunt of two nephews and two nieces who I enjoy spending time with. In my free time I love baking all kinds of sweet pastries, drinking coffee, attending church and traveling.
I graduated from the University of Texas at San Antonio (Go Roadrunners!) with a Bachelors of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with a certification in Bilingual Education and Master’s Degree in Bilingual Cultural Studies. I decided to be certified in Bilingual education because I saw the need for bilingual educators in the field and found it was important for bilingual students to receive to exceptional education. As former bilingual student I understand the various challenges that students will face in their education and is part of the reason I’m here, because I want to help these students succeed academically and reach their goals.

¡Hola! Mi nombre es Ms. Flores y me complace compartirles que me uniré al equipo de segundo grado aquí en Irving Dual Language Academy para el año escolar 2024-2025. Este será mi cuarto año aquí en Irving y estoy agradecido por la oportunidad de ser la maestra de su hijo/a y espero con ansias un año de muchas aventuras a través del aprendizaje. No puedo esperar a aprender todo sobre los estudiantes, pero primero me gustaría compartir un poco sobre mí.
Nací y crecí aquí en San Antonio, Texas, donde asistí a las escuelas de SAISD desde la primaria hasta la preparatoria. Soy la tercera de cuatro hermanos en mi familia y soy una orgullosa tía de dos sobrinos y dos sobrinas con quienes disfruto pasar tiempo con. En mi tiempo libre me encanta hacer y comer todo tipo de postres, tomar café, asistir a la iglesia y viajar.
Me gradué de la Universidad de Texas en San Antonio (¡Go Roadrunners!) con una Bachillerato en Estudios Interdisciplinarios con certificación en Educación Bilingüe y una Maestría en Estudios Culturales Bilingües. Decidí obtener la certificación en educación bilingüe porque vi la necesidad de educadores bilingües en el campo y descubrí que era importante que los estudiantes bilingües recibieran una educación excepcional. Como exestudiante bilingüe, entiendo los diversos desafíos que los estudiantes enfrentarán en su educación y es parte de la razón por la que estoy aquí, porque quiero ayudar a estos estudiantes a tener éxito académico y alcanzar sus metas.
