My name is Crystal Harrison and I will be teaching 1st grade during the 2022-2023 school year.
This is my 6th year as a Schenck Owl, however, I will be starting my 15th year as an educator, 14 of which have been in San Antonio ISD. I have taught 4th grade, middle school and elementary special education, pre-k, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, and now 1st grade.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology from St. Mary's University; a Masters in Public Administration also from St. Mary's University; and a Masters in Educational Leadership with principal certification from UTSA. I am currently pursuing my National Board certification.
I have been married for 18 years and we have 8 children, including 2 sets of twins and one of my former students who we adopted. They range from 7 years old to 21 years old. My husband is a high school teacher and coach so with his schedule and our children's sports and extracurricular activities, we stay very busy. In addition to our children, we have 6 rescue dogs.
I love to watch football and college softball. I am a Spurs, Cowboys, Ohio State, LSU, UTSA, and Astros fan! In my free time, I like to travel, go to concerts, hang out with my friends, attend my children's sporting events, read, and research topics in education. Music is everything to me! I love neo-soul, R&B, rap, 70s, 80s, 90s, and some country music.
