My name is Gladys Cosio-Burger. I am the the Pre-K Dual Language Bilingual teacher of Herff Academy. I am originally from Morelia, Michoacan, Mexico. My family moved to San Antonio Texas in the year of 1962. I love San Antonio because it is a river city with a population rich with culture and diversity. I am honored to be a US Citizen and with that to have the privilege of exercising my civic duties. When given the opportunity, I return to my hometown Morelia, Michoacan to visit dear family and friends and rekindle my love for the country that gave me my beginning.

I am married to a wonderful husband and we have a beautiful and talented daughter whom is now an adult. In my leisure I love to spend time with family and friends, to take walks, read non-fiction and make art. I also enjoy honing my craft, Bilingual/Dual Language Education. It helps me to stay informed of any new research and practice methods in order to better educate my students.

I hold a Master of Arts in Bicultural-Bilingual Education Degree from UTSA.It has been my honor to have been teaching young children for 14 years here at Herff Academyand to build relationships with my students’ parents. I love teaching young children. And I alongside with them am constantly learning new beautiful things from getting to know them as little persons and working with them academically in two languages. I believe in forming positive and trusting relationships with my young students. I hold high expectations for every one of my young students and know that children learn best with play. This helps them to love learning and to love school.
