Hi, I'm Mr. Garcia and I super excited to be starting my fifth year of teaching at Burbank High School.
I am a proud papa to a pack of chihuahuas starting with my dear Bosco who I adopted from a shelter in Los Angeles when I was living there. The rest of the pack includes Parker, Sofia, and Bear.
I love all animals, especially dogs, and I truly believe they enhance the quality of life and all that it brings.
I grew up here in San Antonio, and graduated from Churchill High School.
After high school I attended Alamo colleges and was a part of the Radio, Television, and Film program where I first started to produce content and found a passion for filmmaking.
I would go onto Texas A&M University -San Antonio where I pursued my Bachelors degree in Communication.
I worked on campus as the Multimedia Editor at the University's online new site, The Mesquite.
I currently work as an independent producer working on both feature projects and corporate partnerships. I freelance as a creative consultant for the Academy for Teacher Excellence at UTSA's College of Education and Human Development producing educational content for teachers.
Outside of education, I specialize in creative editorial, photo journalism, and my background includes major feature work, art direction, and production and independent film in Los Angeles where I lived and worked in the entertainment industry.
My work has appeared in the San Antonio Report, Express News, Laredo Morning Times, Primetime Sports, and other news sites.
I've had the joy to work and teach students filmmaking both in the classroom and in the field.
This year I will teach the Yearbook class and the Principles of AAVTC class. I look forward to helping students create engaging and inspiring content.
I will also coach basketball this season. I look forward to a great school year.
