About Me: Mr. Davis loves science and teaching. He grew up in San Antonio and attended Woodlawn Elementary, Horace Mann Middle School, and Jefferson High School. He has a bachelors from Texas A&M in Biomedical Science, a masters from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary and another from Relay Graduate School of Education. He has been teaching at Brack for more than10 years.
Mr. Davis loves reading (favorite authors: Toni Morrison, Arturo Perez-Reverte, Cormac McCarthy, Walter Mosely, Umberto Eco, Victor Villasenor, Robert Heinlein, Salman Rushdie, Issabel Allende, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Paulo Freire, Gustavo Guttierez, and Dr. Suess), loves music (John Coltrane, Bruce Robison, Lila Downs, Lucinda Williams, Cafe Tacuba, Big Freedia, Robert Earl Keen, Ruben Blades, Kacey Musgraves, Trent Reznor, Kanda Bongo Man, H.E.R., Kendrick Lamar, La India, Nina Simone, Pat Metheny,, Childish Gambino, Vince Giraldi,...and many, many more) loves learning new things (spent his Summer free time learning about A.I. and how it can be used in education), loves movies (favorite movies: Treasure of Sierra Madre, Rear Window, Mad Max Fury Road, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Blade Runner, Casablanca, Manhattan, To Catch a Theif, Inception, Bridge Over the River Kwai, Hunt for Red October; and anything by the Coen Brothers, Pedro Almodovar, Martin Scorsese, Tom Ford, Christopher Nolan, Alfonso Cuaron, Niki Caro, Wes Anderson, Quintin Tarantino, Spike Lee, Akira Kurosawa, Alfred Hitchcock, Woody Allen), loves cooking (best dish he makes: Menudo), travel (has driven or bicycled through 48 of the 50 states) and bicycling (favorite bicycle ride was crossing the Continental Divide in Montana). You may see him most days riding to and from school on his electric bike.
