My name is Virginia Contreras.  I will be your child’s 6^th grade Social Studies teacher for the 2017-2018 school year! Since your child and I will be spending a great deal of time together, I would like to share a little bit about myself.

 I was raised Eagle Pass, Texas. I moved to San Antonio to attend The University of Texas at San Antonio. I graduated from TheUniversity of Texas at San Antonio. I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. 

I have had the joy of teaching for thirteen years. All my years of teaching have been here at Whittier Middle School.

My goal for your child this year is to make learning fun! In doing so, your child will acquire a love for school and knowledge. I believe the greatest gifts a parent can give to a child is love, time, and patience. Being involved in your child’s education is a sure road to success. I also believe teachers and parents should work hand-in-hand as a team to build a consistent and solid foundation. 

I know we will have a wonderful year together!
