Justin Watwood 
Justin Watwood started his education career in 2012 at Texans Can Academies in Dallas, Texas teaching high school science. He continued his career there as an instructional coach and assistant principal through 2016 when he moved to Houston, Texas to be Dean of Instruction at YES Prep Public Schools. Mr. Watwood then moved to district office roles in Houston ISD and San Antonio ISD before being named principal of Poe STEM Dual Language Middle School in 2024.
Mr. Watwood grew up in Birmingham, Alabama and attended college in his hometown where he received his undergraduate degree in Economics from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He then pursued and received his graduate degree in Education Leadership from the University of North Texas in 2015.
Mr. Watwood brings his extensive experience in coaching teachers and creating a high-quality school environment for students to his role as the leader of Poe. He is excited to partner with the Poe families and community to bring world class experiences to their students. During his free time, he enjoys hanging out with his chihuahua, Ash, working out, and traveling.

Justin Watwood comenzó su carrera educativa en 2012 en Texans Can Academies en Dallas, Texas, enseñando ciencias en la escuela preparatoria. Continuó su carrera allí como entrenador de instrucción y subdirector hasta 2016, cuando se trasladó a Houston, Texas, para ser Decano de Instrucción en YES Prep Public Schools.
