About Rogers Middle School
The school opened as a junior high at its present location in 1960.
It was named for a former president of the SAISD School Board in the
1950s. Rogers became a middle school in the mid 1970s.
Mr. Harry Rogers, a San Antonio entrepreneur and former SAISD school board president died
in 1957. He also served as President of the San Antonio Chamber of
Commerce, President of the Rotary Club of San Antonio, Governor of
Rotary Club's 13th District, President of Rotary International, and
Chairman of the Rotary International Foundation.
