Principal Information
Felismina Martinez
Felismina is a firm believer in following your passion and overcoming obstacles. Her parents dreamed of sending her to college, but with 8 children to support, Felismina knew she had to find a way to cover her own college expenses. She joined the U.S. Army to fund her education goals, and after serving, she worked for the Department of Defense for 10 years. While proudly serving, Felismina realized her passion was for teaching and used her GI Bill to earn her bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies at the University of the Incarnate Word.
The first to earn a degree in her family, Felismina had realized her parents’ dream. Wanting to impact students on a larger scale, Felismina decided to pursue her master’s degree in School Leadership at Trinity University. In 2019, she enrolled at the Relay Graduate School of Education to strengthen her leadership skills and prepare her for principalship. She has worked in education for 11 years in various roles and has recently been appointed as the proud principal of Beacon Hill Academy. Felismina continues to follow her passion, overcome obstacles, and crush her goals.
