Welcome to the home of the Falcons
It is difficult to believe that the school year is almost coming to an end. It seems that we just started. We have an exciting month with many activities to which we invite you to join us.
• The on line registration continues. Students who have registered before Monday, April 16th will receive 5 incentives from Tuesday, April 17th to Monday, April 23. After April 16th, when you register your child, he or she will receive the remaining incentives. SO, enroll your child now so that your child can receive the 5 incentives.
• Wednesday, April 18th is Family Engagement Night for PK to 2nd grade from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Students will be in the gym and the cafeteria enjoying snacks and activities while the teachers review your child's progress, and ways in which you can keep them up-to-date this summer.
• On Thursday, April 19th we encourage students to wear a green t-shirt in celebration of Earth Day on Sunday, April 22nd.
• On Friday, April 20th we will celebrate the National Day of Advocacy, gathering around the flagpole, taking a moment of silence for the students killed in Marjorie Stoneman Douglas in Parkland, Florida. Students will launch a balloon for each of the victims as their named is called. Join us and our nation by observing a moment of silence and talking with your child about social justice and mutual tolerance.
Also on Friday, we encourage our students to wear their university t-shirts to show our support for the SAISD student college signing day. Do you know which college your child would like to attend?
• Sunday, April 21st at 1:00 p.m. our 5th graders will be cleaning up our school, Whittier and our neighborhood in observance of Earth Day. Please join us to make our school and neighborhood a better place to learn and live.
• Tuesday, April 24th is the Student of the Month where we honor students selected by their teacher. Their parents are invited to join them for a brief ceremony of a pin and refreshments.
• Friday, April 26th is our Fiesta Parade for PK to 2nd grade at 2:45 p.m. Students will exit the front entrance doors and go to the basketball court. They will be released from there. Parents can stand along the area and ask them to show you their shoes and show them your support.
• Friday, April 27th is a holiday. NO SCHOOL. Enjoy Fiesta !!!
• Monday, April 30 is Career Day. Guest speakers will be on campus to talk to our students about their profession. Students may dress in their profession of choice. Do you know what your child wants to be when they grow up?
