Overview

At Highland Hills Elementary, our core belief is that all students can learn at high levels. We work to create a culture and climate that reflects a positive environment, involving all staff and families in helping students to become productive citizens. Collaboration among teachers and high expectations make our campus function as a productive and safe environment. Throughout the year, we seek to know each of our students completely – as people and as learners – through positive interactions and data analysis so we are able to address individual needs. Our teachers are trained to offer a differentiated curriculum that meets the needs of and encourages the growth of all of our students. Hands-on experiences, informed by research-based practices, motivate and teach our children. Teachers are mindful that students must be given the opportunity to problem-solve with their classmates in small groups, a collaborative practice that is the wave of the future for careers that students will choose for themselves. Encouraging students to “think outside the box” is important to us if our students are to be successful in 21st-century jobs.
