San Antonio ISD students, with some campus exceptions, are no longer required to wear a uniform. Irving Dual Language Academy is a specialty campus. Dress code is required.

*This list may be updated. Specialty campuses may require students to follow an approved uniform policy. If a student attends a choice school, families should check with the campus for dress code requirements.
SCHOOL UNIFORM
Students shall be dressed and groomed in a manner that is clean, neat, and will not be a health or safety hazard to themselves or others. In accordance with district policy, students will use school uniforms made up of shorts, skirts, skorts, jumpers, or trousers (including Capri/cropped pants) and long or short-sleeved blouses and shirts with collars. Shorts or skirts must be school appropriate 3 inches above the knee or longer.
Uniform pants must be straight-legged, and pockets must be the standard front pockets. No "baggies" or loose-fit pants are permitted. Cargo pants (with pockets on the side of the leg), overalls, bell-bottom, or wide-leg styles are not uniform pants and are not permitted. Pants that show skin on or any other part, are not permitted. No rips or tears are permitted.
Footwear must be school appropriate. No CROCS, flip flops, or sliders are permitted.
Students who come to school wearing something other than the designated uniform will be sent to the office and parents will be contacted and asked to bring the uniform to school.
Top: Red, White, or School Shirt
Bottom: Black, Khaki, or Jeans
Footwear: sneakers, shoes that are close-toe
Hairstyles: Students' hairstyles must be well groomed and non-distracting. Hair must be a natural color and/or hair designs that have profanity or are otherwise vulgar are not permitted.
APPROVED NON-UNIFORM DAYS
Throughout the year, the school will designate various days with theme-specific attire (Red Ribbon Week, Read Across America). Parents will receive advanced notice for these dates. Participation is optional; students who do not participate are expected to wear their uniform.
Fridays are school Spirit Days; students may choose to wear a school spirit shirt or college shirt.
The school uniform is not required on the following days:
- Designated “free dress” days
- School picture days
