Applying to ALA is easy! Lotteries are held for admission at the start of elementary, middle and high school grades, or students may apply to be added to the waitlist at any other grade.

First round offers from the lottery are usually announced in February via email, text, and mailed letters. Applicants have about two weeks to accept offers or forfeit seats to the waitlist.
In the meantime, we strongly recommend getting to know SAISD, the Choice Schools program, and ALA by attending an in-person or virtual information session. Full details on dates and times for these events will be announced soon, along with complete information about the application process.
