Applying to ALA is easy! Lotteries are held for admission at the start of elementary, middle and high school grades, or students may apply to be added to the waitlist at any other grade.
To apply, simply visit www.saisd.net/apply or call (210) 554-2660.
The windows for application are as follows:
(Please note, exact dates for application and notification windows have not yet been set by SAISD, but this page will be updated to reflect them as soon as they're available. You may also check www.saisd.net/apply for this information)
First round offers from the lottery are usually announced in February via email, text, and mailed letters. Applicants have about two weeks to accept offers or forfeit seats to the waitlist.
In the meantime, we strongly recommend getting to know SAISD, the Choice Schools program, and ALA by attending an in-person or virtual information session. Full details on dates and times for these events will be announced soon, along with complete information about the application process. Until the final dates are set, feel free to check out the the 2021-2022 School Year Application Overview document for a general overview of the process.
