Homework

Educational research has shown that homework does not positively impact students' academic progress in elementary school.  Instead, it is often the source of frustration for families, students, and teachers.  Research also shows that the more time kids spend reading, the better readers they become.  Therefore, students are strongly encouraged to read for 20 minutes every night.

RULER - Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence

This year we are using the Yale Center’s “Feeling Words” curriculum.  It is a great way for students not only to build their vocabulary, but also to learn to regulate their emotions and grow in their emotional intelligence.
