Ms. Johnson was born in Port Lavaca, Texas in 1983 and grew up in Victoria, Texas both located next to the gulf coast. She graduated high school in 2002 and attended college in San Marcos, Texas at Texas State University where she received her B.F.A in Art Education in 2011. She is certified early childhood through 12th grade in Art and early childhood through 6th in general education. Ms. Johnson has high expectations for every one of her students and one of her goals is to make each student a lifelong learner and a productive, contributing member of society through building rapport and sharing her love of education.

ART Syllabus

Course Description: Students will explore a wide variety of art mediums and techniques as they practice using the elements of art and the principles of design for numerous hands-on assignments during the school year.

Grading Procedure: Each student’s grade will be an average of his/her performance on exams, artwork, attitude, work habits, and participation.

Semester Exams: Students will be responsible for terminology, methods, media types, and techniques used while creating various works of art during the semester.

Policy for Make-up Assignments: Students will have one day for every day missed to make up missing assignments, all assignments must be turned in by the assigned grading deadline.

Expectations in the Classroom: Students should come to the class prepared to work on time, be courteous to all others in the classroom, and follow classroom rules for working and cleaning up. Please refer to the student/parent handbook and student code of conduct for campus rules and discipline measures.
