Course Description:
Art will focus on studying a diverse, cultural art history, creating projects focused on design, drawing, color and painting. Students are expected to create projects, be knowledgeable about art vocabulary and art history, and be able to use vocabulary in describing artwork of their own, their peers, and from professional artists. Students will be encouraged to attend and participate in community, district, and region visual art events.
CLASS OBJECTIVES:

- To learn about art history.
- To express ideas though art projects that build a student’s skill and knowledge of creating artwork.
- To build art vocabulary.
- To work cooperatively in a classroom with others, creating an environment that encourages discussion about art, and that respects the space, materials, and artwork of others.
- To critically analyze one’s own artwork, as well as the artwork of others.
