Principal Information
Twila M. Guajardo
It is my honor to be the principal of Travis Early College High School—a truly exceptional learning community! I am a native south Texan having attended K-12 schools in Jourdanton just south of San Antonio. I am the daughter of a first-generation college graduate mother and a hard-working father who both instilled a love of learning and the importance of a solid work ethic.
I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas, and a Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches. My educator certifications are in Social Studies 8-12, Principal K-12, and Superintendent K-12. I just completed 18 years as an educator with experience as a substitute, special education aide, teacher, instructional coach, assistant principal, and principal in middle and high school levels. My passion as an educator is to build capacity in others and empower them to act. Creating a proactive collaborative culture with a focus on excellence for adults and students alike is at the heart of my leadership philosophy. I am energized by the challenge of removing barriers to achievement and aim to have Travis ECHS continue its tradition of exceptional results and be recognized as one of the best high schools in the nation.
I am blessed to be married to Frank, my husband of 23 years, who works in telecommunications. We are proud parents of two children, a senior (Class of ’23) and freshman (Class of ’26), both attending Texas A & M in College Station. We love to travel and enjoy tubing, dancing, and BBQ.
I am excited to become part of the Travis ECHS community and look forward to the great things to come. Your questions, concerns and suggestions are always welcomed and valued so please do not hesitate to contact me. Twila M. Guajardo
