Priscilla Alfaro is deeply humbled and excited to lead Young Women’s Leadership Academy. She is a product of the community, attending SAISD K-8 schools before having the opportunity to engage in single gender education as a graduate of Providence High School.
She went on to earn a B.S. in Secondary Education from Harris Stowe State University in St. Louis and a M.S. in Educational Leadership from Texas A&M University in San Antonio. She has spent the last 14 years in various educational roles starting as a high school science teacher before taking on many positions leading to her principalship at Karen Wagner High School. Her most recent role is the Director of Secondary Education in Judson ISD where she oversees curricula for all middle and high school campuses across the district.
She feels every experience has made her ready to serve at Young Women’s Leadership Academy and be the leader her students, staff, parents, and community partners deserve. Her passion is increasing equitable outcomes for students in areas they are underrepresented and ensuring a school culture of inclusivity and high expectations.
While Mrs. Alfaro considers all her students her “kids”, she does have three of her very own along with a supportive husband which has allowed her to pursue her own dreams while working to balance motherhood with a career in education.
